RunnerMonkey >> Beat the Bridge Run

From Runiki

The Beat the Bridge Run is a race run in May of each year near the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. The scenic course first takes runners across the Montlake bridge and, two miles into the run, to the University Bridge. The drawbridge is raised thirty minutes after the start, and, because the race is started in waves with the slowest beginning 20 minutes before the bridge is raised, it truly is a race to beat the bridge. Runners stopped at the bridge don't usually mind too much as there is plenty of fun entertainment at the stop, and, from what I've heard, it's a great place to talk to that cute guy or gal you've been running next to for the first couple of miles.

The times posted in the race are usually fairly competitive with the male winner cross the line in a bit under 25 minutes and there is plenty of yummy food provided for the finishers.
