The Ivy League is a league of eight Northeastern universities. Traditionally known for strong academics and for being very expensive, they have lately started to buck the latter association as they have begun to use their extensive endowments for financial aid purposes.

Cross country and track traditionally compete in a related athletic conference known as the Heptagonal League, which includes the eight Ivies and formerly Navy and Army.
