From Runiki

The Seattle Jingle Bell Run in Seattle, Washington has been run every year since 1985. Like all Jingle Bell Runs, the Seattle Jingle Bell Run supports the Arthritis Foundation. This huge race attracts five to ten thousand runners each year. It is run in three waves to ensure that no one has to wait too long after the gun to start.

The race is headquartered at Westlake Center in downtown, starting and finishing right outside. About a third of the race is run on downtown streets and the remainder on the express lanes of Interstate 5. The first half mile and miles 2.5 through 3.0 are quite hilly, the middle two miles are flat or downhill and the rather long finish are quite fast.
