Club Northwest was formed in 1972, combining a number of smaller running groups in the Seattle area. The club is still quite active. It sponsors a number of road races local to Seattle in addition to a summer track series. The club includes an elite squad that competes with the best running clubs in the nation and it even publishes a monthly magazine called Northwest Runner.
