The Resolution Run 5k in Seattle, Washington is a great event held on New Year's Day each year. The race starts near Hanger 27 at Magnuson Park and finishes right inside the heated hangar. Given that the Seattle winters are never that cold that might seem like an unnecessary comfort, but the run has an optional surprise that makes it necessary.

Trip n' Dip Detour

For those runners that are brave enough, the run includes a quick polar bear style dip in Lake Washington.
