Runner's World is one of the most widely-known and widely-read running publications in the United States. The monthly magazine sponsors many local road races.

Some runners complain that as it has grown in the past couple decades Runner's World has become too commercial and has started focussing on the running hobbyist rather than its initial core of die-hard runners. Nevertheless, for many runners this is their introduction into the wider running base.
