From RunikiTim Hacker was born December 27, 1962 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. [edit] High SchoolTim attended Menomonee Falls North High School and, while there, won two WIAA Division I cross country titles in 1979 and 1980.
[edit] CollegeDuring his tenure at the University of Wisconsin, Hacker won the 1985 NCAA individual cross country championship, completing the 10,000 meter race in 29:17.8. He was also three-time Big Ten (1981, 1984 and 1985) and District IV (1981, 1982 and 1985) cross country champion. In track, Hacker was All-American five times - three times on the distance medley relay and once each in the 5,000 meters and the 1,500 meters - and twice won the Big Ten 1,500 meters in 1984 and 1985. [edit] Post-CollegiateAfter college, Tim was the U.S. cross country champion in 1987, and the national 5,000 meter champion in 1989. He placed fifth in the 1984 1,500 meter U.S. Olympic trials and finished second at the U.S. Championships in the same event. Hacker's PR in the 1,500-meter run is 3:34.66 which is one of the top marks in US history. |
